Research and planning: how did the trailer of Annabelle differ to the film

The Annabelle trailer and the film do differ slightly. In the trailer we are not introduced to the doll until the time that it re appears in the film, making it seem less significant although that's basically what the whole film is about. Also some of the film is shown at different times in the trailer. For example when the girl bursts through the door at the end of the trailer, which actually happens quite early on in the film. I think that they have done this to grab the attention of the audience towards the end of the trailer, due to the trailer being quite passive. This jump at the end would help the audience remember the film.
I feel that after watching both the trailer and the film, the trailer makes it quite hard to understand, just because the trailer mainly includes the peaks in narrative, and they're all mixed up to grip the viewer.
